Unisa Law Students Association

Posted by under: Non classé .

I am a final year law student at UniSA and I am studying a double degree in law and economics. I was once part of USALSA, so I know the details. I have also helped lead student unions in the past, serving as treasurer and secretary of the Iowa Lakes Student Senate from 2018 to 2019. If you study law at UniSA, you will have many exciting opportunities during your stay here. USALSA, as the sole representation of law students, is here to ensure that you leave your law school experience prepared and confident and that you have had some of the best years of your student life. Having participated in the committee this year, I have a deep understanding of the association and look forward to helping the committee reach and connect with more students. 2022 was a challenging year for UniSA students as we began to live with a new standard of study, and I look forward to applying what we learned from 2022 to 2023 to provide law students with a committee that represents and champions their success. Given the number of law students at UniSA, USALSA works directly with its student body to foster a stable institution that offers a variety of learning opportunities that employers will seek. We are happy to coordinate new perspectives for the 2020 academic year with our sponsors. USALSA is a non-profit student organization that relies on its generous sponsorship partners. My goal is to lead USALSA by providing great value to students. I will use the connections to offer Jura products that you proudly wear on the bus and on campus.

We will continue to organize major competitions and compete on the national stage in ALSA competitions. We strive to organize regular events, networking opportunities, fundraising events and informal meeting places to foster an inclusive and connected cohort. Together with UniSA and our generous sponsors, USALSA is always happy to offer new projects and student development opportunities to its law students and graduates. We work for the benefit of the student body by offering social events and networking opportunities, career fairs and seminars, as well as legal advice competitions to support students` hands-on experience and skills development. As President, I will be accessible and present. I will work with you to create a student union that will give you back and get the most out of your degree! I would love to work with such a diverse group of students. I have been working in the administration for months. I am passionate about doing my best to provide students with a remarkable experience of learning and understanding different cultures. What sets me apart is my work ethic and integrity. I think I should be chosen for a position that relates to the scope or marketing element of the committee. After the last 2 years at UniSA, I have noticed that there is another need to involve students and improve the events and activities offered by USALSA. I am dedicated, extremely organized/creative and would be an asset to the team.

Since 2008, USALSA has seen a history of students whose academic qualifications have given them high-quality work experience that makes them advantageous over other law graduates across the state. At the same time, I want to create a fun environment where students feel safe and as if their committee truly represents their student cohort. In 2023, the committee I chair will place a strong emphasis on the social and educational aspects of the university experience. Our goal is to leverage our extensive network to provide you not only with training opportunities, but also future career and personal networking opportunities both within UniSA and externally. I look forward to helping the committee organize fantastic events throughout the year so you can socialize and mingle with your friends, including an opening party, winery tour, legal ball, quiz night, and more. My name is Emily and I want to become USALSA President in 2023. My goal for the coming year is to ensure that USALSA works with students and faculty so that our voices are heard on issues that directly affect our degree and how we participate. With changes coming to the program, semester schedule and shift to online learning, it is more important than ever to have a president who advocates for students and provides student feedback. The only representation for law students at the University of South Australia. I have great teamwork skills and am passionate about achieving the interests of my colleagues. I am passionate about social justice and human rights movements. I believe that student unions are essential to supporting students and I would like to have the opportunity to be part of USALSA.

The University of South Australia Law Students` Association stands proudly on Kaurna Land. We recognize the cultural heritage, history and beliefs of the Kaurna people and pay tribute to them in everything we do. The USALSA team wishes you all the best for your studies and hopes that we can help you make your stay at UniSA one of the best. Being a law student at UniSA is an incredible achievement and something we can be proud of. That said, I think USALSA and UniSA can do a lot more to enhance your legal study experience and enjoy the social side of law school. The University of South Australia was ranked number one in South Australia for student satisfaction in the 2016-18 Graduate Outcomes Survey. Among the topics presented, the law at UniSA was one of the biggest contributors. UniSA also outperformed the state in employer satisfaction; Nearly 86% of employers surveyed as part of the 2018 employer satisfaction survey were overall satisfied with the UniSA graduates they hired.
