The Activision internship application process begins in September and continues until November – art internships are open until February.
The process begins with submitting a cover letter and filling out an application for the position you are interested in. You can search for vacancies or a specific job title. Activision offers two internship programs: the 12-week internship program for emerging talent and the 10-week MBA internship program. The MBA Internship Program is a 10-week summer internship for first-year MBA students who have at least three years of relevant work experience. The internship usually starts in mid-June and lasts until mid-August and takes place at the Santa Monica headquarters.

The internships take place on-site at one of the company`s independent video game development studios, located around the world. The studios are located in San Francisco, Dallas, Boulder, London, Madrid, Shanghai, Vancouver and the greater Los Angeles area. You don`t need to be a software engineer to complete an Activision internship. While the majority of roles are computer-based, you`ll find opportunities in art, design, data science, animation, and production. When you complete an Activision internship, you can expect an unparalleled experience where you work directly on projects that advance the company`s vision. All internships consist of three main components.
The first is that you work directly on projects that affect the development of real-world games. The Emerging Talent program includes opportunities in the fields of analysis, engineering, game design, production, UX/UI, animation, and art. To apply to the program, students must be enrolled in a college or university whose graduation date is no earlier than December of the application year. The internship starts in late May or early June and lasts until late August or early September. To stand out from the crowd, try talking to recruiters and expressing your passion for the internship. If you don`t have much work or associated experience, explain how you learned and mastered personal projects. The idea here is to show initiative and show how you can add value to Activision through an internship in the company. Second, your internship will focus on learning and development.
You can participate in technical conferences where you can experiment and get to know things outside of your role. This means networking with teams from different departments and even working across all sectors to improve designs. Previous technology discussions have also included social aspects, including a recent conference on developing great games for people with disabilities. The goal is to help you understand how your role connects with other people in the company and also allows you to find new roles or departments where you might want to make a career.
