200 Mph Street Legal Cars

Most of us strive to acquire a car that can satisfy our desire for speed. However, not everyone can afford a car to satisfy this desire. Therefore, if we can`t afford to spend a lot of money on a fast, powerful and expensive car, we turn to the used car market to find affordable cars that are also fast, or expensive cars that have significantly devalued. Of course, with so many modification options available, or with nothing more than a smart limiter removal, you could optimize a car to make it capable of 200 mph. While all the cars on this list can reach at least 200 miles per hour, most exceed this brand. However, aston Martin`s gorgeous Valkyrie reaches halfway from there at 300, reaching a whopping 250 miles per hour. The divine hypercar does this thanks to an impressive hybrid powertrain — consisting of a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 engine and a RIMAC-built KERS battery system — which is good for 1,160 horsepower. Of course, it wouldn`t be a hypercar just with speed, so you`ll also find plenty of comfort and modern technology built into the luxurious interior. To ensure a perfect fit, the owner`s body is 3D scanned before building the car to ensure that the driver`s seat fits like a glove. We would expect no less from James Bond`s favorite car manufacturer and the people at Red Bull Racing. No list of ultra-fast vehicles is complete without an appearance from Bugatti – the legendary car manufacturer responsible for some of the craziest and most exaggerated hypercars ever built.
While their next Divo is their next big release, we still have a lot of love for the Chiron – and not just because it`s over $3 million cheaper. You see, although the Divo has a number of updates, they do not compensate (in our opinion) for this massive price increase. In fact, both have the same 8.0-liter W16 engine under the hood, which is good for 1,500 horsepower no matter what car you`re driving. In addition, both cars have comparable top speeds thanks to electronic restrictions. Really, the only thing the Divo gives you that the Chiron doesn`t do is maybe it`s a more aggressive style and more exclusivity – not that a $3.2 million hypercar isn`t exclusive. Read on and, like me, let yourself be surprised by the selection of cars that are on this ultimate speed list. Oh, and the list ends with a little electrifying surprise for all of you. Tip: There are many more cars that are too fast than you think. In the world of maximum speeds of production vehicles, the magic number has increased to 300, as in 300 miles per hour. It is currently an inaccessible speed that consumes some car manufacturers, some of whom are convinced that anything slower is a defeat.
In reality, where the rest of us live, even these « disappointing » lower speeds are incredible. Not so long ago, 200 mph was the ceiling of production car Vmaxs. Breaking 200 mph was and is a huge feat, even though the number of cars capable of this speed and beyond has increased massively in recent years. So, while those crazy few chase the big 3-0-0, we take the time to appreciate the rich variety of production cars that their manufacturers claim to reach 200 miles per hour. Click to see them all, from the slowest to the fastest: since the breakthrough of the F40, dozens of other production cars have followed it, and thus reaching 200 mph has become much more accessible in the decades that followed. The starting price is now less than six figures for a new car capable of this performance. That you can now go so fast to be so cheap is amazing in itself. In 1987, Ferrari set the automotive world on fire by building the first production car to reach 200 miles per hour, the F40.
At the time, that ridiculous speed would have cost $400,000 (or $903,419 in today`s cash, here about $1.2 million). Cars that have reached this brand now cost much less and probably also have a radio. In 1994, a young Swede named Christian von Koenigsegg decided to start his own company with the idea of producing a world-class sports car that would not only be legal on the road, but would also set the automotive world on fire. Their first stay in the homologation class was the CC8S, which was launched in 2002. Koenigsegg has distinguished itself from its competitors by developing and building the components of its vehicles in-house. They recently designed the world`s first camless piston engine and continue to research and develop programs for car electronic systems and the next generation of reciprocating engines. Then there`s the Tesla Roadster, the first fully electric car homologated for the road. For many people, this is the future of driving, but there is probably still some way to go before we see that global transportation systems depend on electricity. It`s hard to talk about what the Tesla offers in terms of power, but the bottom line is that it will reach an extremely quiet 250 mph. With numbers like 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, the future of driving looks extremely electrifying. With a seven-speed sequential manual transmission, wide corners and four exhaust outlets, the E60 was the craziest M5 we`ve ever seen.
The shrill V10 with its 500 hp power and red line at 8000 rpm, as well as the excellent chassis in which it sits, are major attractions in Germany, but it is also very exceptional in the top speed department, despite respecting the gentlemen`s agreement to limit cars to 155 mph. Although it has only been around since 2006, the Audi R8 will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest cars of all time. Its sleek and surprisingly minimalist style is iconic, but doesn`t betray the beast of a beating heart inside, giving it up to 611 horsepower and 617 foot-pounds of torque — numbers that together give it a top speed of 205 mph. Interestingly, this car is actually built on a Lamborghini platform; first the Gallardo and then the Huracan. However, the similarities between this one and the Raging Bull cars pretty much stop here, as the R8 uses Audi`s aluminum monocoque space frame on the chassis. A true engineering masterpiece, each R8 is built by hand from more than 5,000 individual parts before being inspected by 95 lasers – to ensure tolerances within 0.1 mm of the plans. It`s not as flashy as some of its brethren, but this supercar has it where it counts. The new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette has been rightly compared to many supercars. In Italian, Pista means route. For the 488 sports car, that means combining Ferrari`s most powerful V8 engine with what the company calls its « highest level of road racing technology transfer to date. » Prototype Drive Okay, just for a little fun, let`s see what $400,000+ can bring you.
How about an all-wheel drive, 730 hp all-wheel drive, a monster 6.5-liter V12 that is absolutely stunning. The Lamborghini Aventador S is an amazing automobile from a very impressive team that has been producing high-end sports cars since 1963. Lamborghini is known worldwide for being a fast car, a leader in the sports car range, a market leader followed by other manufacturers, but did you know that the Aventador S is one of the few Lamborghini capable of reaching the 200 mph mark? The Lamborghini company has a very interesting history since Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company more than 5 decades ago. It has seen many owners over the years and even went bankrupt in 1978, but like all thoroughbreds, it has found the strength to recover and now belongs to the Volkswagen Group under the Audi division.
